Letter to the Editor: Michael Garza
In his letter to the Record earlier today outgoing SBAVP, Albert Suh, phrased the problem we are now facing best, “the SBA is at once both not as powerful and not as powerless as many students imagine.” As a candidate in this election I struggled to find the appropriate method to target voters with a wide range of views. While I tried to run on my experience and goals, I had to face the realization that many students think the SBA elections are a popularity contest and they will vote for the person with the best sign or meme. If you are reading this you probably are not one of these students and I only hope you understand that many of the candidates simply had to adjust their strategies based on the system they faced. I am not going to make grandiose promises or stretch the truth, but I will promise you I am dedicated to Fordham Law and dedicated to building a better Fordham Law. I hope to help build an efficient, transparent, and productive SBA that represents the diverse student body we are made up of. I want to thank everybody that took the time to read this and I hope to have the opportunity to continue to serve Fordham Law as SBA treasurer.
